RULES FOR VISITORS

As with other Formula 1 events, the Canadian Grand Prix visitors must abide by the rules set by the organisers. Below you will find a basic overview of them.

WHAT CAN'T YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

Items that can be used to damage or deface property - or any part of the circuit and its surroundings - as well as obstructions, hindrances or interruptions to the race, affecting public safety, as well as any merchandise or tickets for commercial distribution and any dangerous items, are prohibited by law.

Anyone entering the entertainment area will be subject to a check/search.

Refusal may result in not being admitted without a refund. Please note that certain items are not allowed to be brought into the entertainment area.

The list of prohibited items includes, but is not limited to:

  • Alcoholic beverages were brought from outside the venue.
  • Animals, except for guide and assistance dogs.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, and similar devices.
  • Burners and barbecues.
  • Drones.
  • Electrical devices that need a generator.
  • Firearms, knives, electric stun guns, and other hazardous items.
  • Glass containers.
  • Grills and barbecues.
  • Ladders and stepladders.
  • Laser pointers.
  • Signs or banners that are provocative, defamatory, or used for protests.
  • Umbrellas or any structures that can block the view of other spectators or pose a safety risk.

WHAT ARE THE RULES OF CONDUCT WITHIN THE CIRCUIT?

  • Any spectators who do not adhere to the rules may be banned from the venue indefinitely.
  • Banners, flags, and other promotional items are permitted as long as they do not interfere with other spectators or obstruct their view.
  • Climbing or crossing the fences that mark the track boundaries is strictly forbidden.
  • Going topless is not allowed.
  • Sitting or blocking the stairs in the Grandstands is prohibited.
  • Smoking and the use of vaporizers are not permitted in the Grandstands (refer to the next question for more information).
  • Standing up to take photos is allowed, provided it does not disturb other spectators. Please be considerate and avoid standing for extended periods.

WHAT CAN YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

We generally recommend visitors of F1 races to pack light and take only the essentials - money, phone, spare battery for their camera, etc. There is a wide range of food and drinks available at the race circuit, of course, don't forget your ticket for each specific day and valid ID for yourself and your children.

Note the following information:

  • Cameras are allowed for personal use only.
  • Cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, and vaporizers are allowed on-site; however, smoking is strictly prohibited in the grandstands, Suites, Terraces, and other enclosed areas as per the Tobacco Act.
  • Coolers and backpacks are allowed on-site but must fit the following dimensions: 22.8 cm (9 in.) x 45.7 cm (18 in.) x 25.4 cm (10 in.). Grandstand ticket holders must place their cooler or bag under their seats.
  • Items must not disturb other spectators.
  • Strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are permitted.

Information for smokers: There are designated smoking areas in each zone. Smoking or vaporising cannabis is prohibited. Please respect the designated smoking areas.
